LaserMax Gripsense G for LCP Max |
2/1/2023 |
This laser fits perfectly on my LCP Max. The green is much brighter than the red, Pink Rhino laser I used to zero it. I like it because the laser comes on as soon as your middle finger wraps around the gun grip. There's nothing to futz with in case of emergency. You just draw, and the laser turns on automatically. I can't speak to battery life yet, because it's only been on the gun for a couple of months. But so far it's been great for concealed carry. |

Laser Not As Bright as Competitors |

I love the size and mag capacity of Ruger LCP Max but this green laser is just so weak it is distracting trying to locate the green dot. New batteries didn't help and others have same complaint. I wish Crimson Trace or other company would come out with grip activated green laser for this gun. |

I think the laser itself is as good as any on the market, but they advertise This laser has an external battery access door with tool-less entry. I didn’t have one on mine . |

Fit |

On the LCP MAX, It kinda fits. The rear of the Laser doesn't extend far enough to the rear to fit flush with the dust cover, leaving a gap of about 1/8 in. I can see part of the circuit board in that gap. |

Fits on the gun perfectly |

I am really impressed with this sight. The only issue I had was a dead battery when I used the grip sense in the clipless IWB holster bought on this site. With this particular holster you can't tell if the light is on or not. Not sure if it works better with a different holster... |

Great option for LCP Max |

I was skeptical it would fit my new LCP Max, but it fits perfectly. The GripSense seems to work exactly as intended; and in a way I like it better than the Crimson Trace Laserguard I had on the LCP II that my LCP Max replaced, because the latter sometimes required a slight re-positioning of my grip or squeezing a little tighter to turn the beam on. I have the green version, and I do think it's a little weaker and a little less distinct dot than the Crimson Trace red laser, but it is certainly visible, day and night, at .380 pocket pistol practical range. And the price is right! I haven't yet encountered problems with the laser turning off when it should, including in a pocket holster, that one reviewer talked about. Also, so far the LCP Max with the Centerfire Laser fits in the holsters I used for the LCP II with the Crimson Trace Laserguard, just a little tighter. |

holster sucks life out of battery |

I love this laser, but I carry in a pocket holster. The holster causes the laser to turn on and next time I pull the pistol the laser sight is dead. I tested the battery and its definitely dead. Crimson trace if I cant find a solution for this. |

Wow. What a great purchase. Love it. |

I adore this thing. I was concerned about how tight it would fit on my Max and if it would hold zero. I only have one trip to the range so far but it seemed to have no issues at all. I can easily group an entire 12 round magazine in a 3 inch circle at 7 yards. I have red dots on everything else I own because of poor eyesight and I need glasses for distance but it makes iron sights blurry. The Max is too narrow for a dot. This solves my problem. Excellent purchase. Now I need a new holster. Not quite as easy to find. I was also concerned about how the gripsense works. It seems flawless as well and I love the fact there is no actual button to activate it. Finger touches the pad it’s on, finger off the pad it’s off. Nice. |

Ok but not great |

This is the only green laser I could find for the Ruger LCP Max. Shop Ruger had the lowest price and fast shipping. Install was easy, and it took some time to zero it. Was way off out of the box. Absolutely love the way the gripsense activates by touch and doesn’t interfere with your grip whatsoever. Much better than standard laser activation buttons that depend on your grip. Now to the cons and why I rated it only 3 stars. The green laser has a lot of distortion and artifacts around the beam’s dot. Typically minor distortions fade away at distance but not with this. You can see all the artifacts and distortions rings, splatter, etc even out to 20-30 feet. I cleaned the lens using alcohol swabs and no difference. Must be a defect in the emitter or lens. Additionally, compared to the Crimson Trace green lasers I have, the laser max green laser is considerably dimmer and not as intense as the CT green laser. I would say the lasermax is about half the brightness of a CT. |

Easy installation and the laser is so easy to acquire. Have several red lasers but the green just stands out ! |

A NO brainer |

When it comes to the horrific moment if you are ever in a position where you need to use a firearm to defend yourself, I believe one of the last things I would ever WANT to do is put something solid like a pistol in front of my face and essentially block or partially block my field of vision. Thats what using either iron sights or a red dot optic does. It block your view. BAD CHOICE. With a laser such as this, I can draw the pistol from my person and the laser comes on instantly and automatically and I do NOT need to even raise the gu. Literally, I can shoot from the hip. Need I say more ? Its rugged, has stood with me for several years, green is more visible than red especially in daylight and your eye is more sensitive to green because your brain/eye see red LEDs everywhere whereas not so much with green LEDs. Its very well priced, in reach of anyone who wants one. Installs in a minute or two with no special tools necessary. Its a NO brainer. PS ... I train with it regularly BUT I also train just using iron sights just in case of a dead battery or something . Gripsense technology simply means you dont have to push any buttons. It also can be turned off easily enough. get yourself one. I have one for every pistol I own. EVERY ONE ! |
