Detailed Description

The Alien Gear Cloak Mod Paddle OWB Holster for the MAX-9® pistol includes a curved holster paddle with a retainment lip that protects the paddle holster from being removed during a struggle. The Cloak Mod’s strength begins at its core with a spring-steel flex plate layer provides that strength and support. It also includes a thermo elastomer retention membrane, a durable material that rests between your gun and the steel flex plate. When holstering your firearm, this thick layer of thermo elastomer snaps the pistol into place and retains it once it’s there. The holster's open-mouthed design allows the gun's muzzle to find a perfect access point to the rest of the gun holster. The Alien Gear Five-Point Customization System provides each open carrier with a variety of carry options. It allows carriers to adjust the cant/angle and level of retention. The Cloak Mod holster also has the ability to become a belt slide holster - just swap out the paddle component and replace it with the belt slide that came with the order. While this holster comes only with the shell to fit the MAX-9® , the Cloak Mod’s holster shells are fully swappable, allowing owners to easily switch out the holster shell to match other firearms. Fits the MAX-9 pistol only - available in black only - includes the Ruger logo. Right hand fit only. Made in the USA by Alien Gear Holsters. Quality less than I expected 1/13/2022
I wanted to try an OWB holster for concealed carry hoping it would be more comfortable than my IWB holster. It is more comfortable. However, I had difficulty configuring it to my liking. I didn't like the paddle and removed it in favor of the belt clip. The instructions were barely intelligible and were hard to line up with what I was seeing on the holster. Also some of the holes were poorly machined and didn't line up well. I actually had to use my drill on one hole. I'm sure that voided the warranty but it worked and I didn't need to send the holster back. Unfortunately, after all that I probably won't use it very much because it sticks out too far and would make my pistol hard to conceal. Other than all that, it protects the trigger and holds the gun firmly.
