A good start...but needs some modification to work well |

I own a lot of Ruger products, both firearms and accessories, and am a huge fan of Ruger. However I picked one of these Ruger branded mags from my local shop - mag is stamped Duramag. I had issues feeding with my custom build. After researching I found that a lot of people made the front wall cut out larger - straight wall casing catches it when sliding out and flips round up. After a few minutes with a dremel, I got it to about twice the depth of the original cut. Now step 2...My winchester FMJs fed fine, but I had issues with my Hornady hunting loads feeding the first round...there was so much spring pressure, the bolt would often lose momentum going into battery. Opened up the mag again and ended up cutting 5 of the closed loop sections of the spring off. Now all 5 rounds feed flawlessly and everything works. Some minor improvements to this fairly new cartridge magazine will make a lot of users happy. I have heard manufactured complete ARs dont have this issue...but I expected it to work out of the package. Maybe my magpuls have given me unrealistic expectations? |

Quality product. Functions as it should. |

This is a well made product. Function and feeding are flawless with my American Ranch Rifle.
I would really like to see a shorter five round magazine offered. The five and ten round magazines are the same length. The capacity on the five round mag has been reduced by filling the bottom of the mag with additional spring. How about offering a true five round magazine that would protrude a shorter distance from the bottom of the magazine well? |

We were having some cycling issues with our 350 Legend and thought it might be the CMMG mag.. So got the DuraMag from Ruger.. Same exact thing, just doesnt have CMMG stamped on it. Doesnt mean its a bad product, just wasnt what I was hoping. |
