I got these for my GP .44 Special. The factory grips concealed well and worked well for casual target practice. However, when I would practice self-defense scenarios, drawing from concealment and shooting, I consistently shot low - aim for the heart, hit the stomach. Im as guilty as anyone of occasionally throwing a shot low or high or off to the side, but this was consistent. Practicing my draw in the mirror, I saw the factory grips caused the gun to point a bit low, so I bought these. The gun now points right where it should. The grips are very comfortable and about as concealable as the originals. What stops me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that when I put them on the gun, the hole for the screw in the grips did not quite line up with the hole in the bushing. The grips needed to go on another 1/16th of an inch or so to be perfectly lined up. I had to push them on, put the screw in, tap it lightly with a hammer to get it started, then screw it in. |
