Fits LCP Max |
3/28/2024 |
After purchasing the sights, I took them to a gunsmith who was able to install both the front and rear sights on my LCP max. I wouldn't recommend installing yourself unless you are experienced because the front sight does needs to be shaved down slightly to fit, but the gunsmith I had do the work was able to install them in under 10 minutes. The sights fit and work great. |

They fit fine |

Bought these for my new LCP Max. Initially thought I would leave the original front sight on and just change the rear because many complained the front sight from Tru Glo didn’t fit. However, I liked that there is a more BOLD white ring on the front Tru Glo sight than the one that comes on the LCP Max and my OCD wouldn’t let me not install a matching set, so I had to change both . A buddy of mine who is a gunsmith did the work for me. He only likes changing sights using a hammer and punch and said he had no issues putting these front or rear Tru Glo sights on. I specifically asked if the front sight gave him any trouble or if he had to file anything on it and he said no and that it literally took 20 mins to change both. Sights look great and I look forward to shooting the pistol to see how they do. |

Stock front sight on LCP MAX is too high(and they know it) |
7/2/2023 |
I've been doing this dance with Ruger since I got my new LCP MAX a couple months ago. Gun shoots very low. They sent me a new barrel/slide assembly. Still shot very low. Sent it back to them and they changed the barrel/slide assembly and frame assembly. I was so excited to get it back with the target that had a commendable 5-shot grouping. Took it out and fired 10 rounds, all at least as low as it was before. Very disappointed and discouraged because I love the size/weight and gun in general, BUT THE DAMN FRONT SIGHT IS TOO DAMN HIGH. It needs a much lower front sight, about half as high would be my guess. Why they would continue to put these out in the present configuration is beyond me, as I am one of VERY many having the same issue. If this gun requires a special "combat" hold or some other such BS, it should at least be stated in the manual, I would think. I'm not a real happy camper right about now, in case that's not coming through. |

Huge improvement! |

I adhered to the excellent advice from Gabe D. - ME, in the first review here. The front sight, installed by Ruger, is better than the one supplied with this kit and it is true; it does not fit. The rear night sights, however, are a flawless match to the front. Easily installed with a sight tool (I use a Universal model) they make sighting this pistol much more readily than the black original. If you make a small pencil mark in the center of the Ruger rear sight prior to installing the TruGlo, then line up the new sights accordingly, you have an excellent starting position. I did not have to adjust mine after shooting, it was spot on! |

Caution! |

***Only the REAR sight fits the lcp max. ***
The front one has a dovetail that is too large. Do not attempt to install the front one or you will cause damage to your max and the front sight!
I know from experience. The tritium sight that already comes with the max is brighter and larger anyway. The only way to install this front one, is to modify the dovetail by filing off the front and back edges of the dovetail. Otherwise it won’t fit, unless you force it which will rip a crack in the crease of the dovetail where it meets the tritium body, and will torque the whole thing crooked. The rear one fits like a glove though! Perfect. |
