Fits my hands like it was made for me |
6/28/2024 |
I am a tall woman with long fingers. So, while I love my Mark IV, the factory grip is much to slender for me. Consequently, I was making errors of form.
I got this one and my hands just naturally position where they should be. It is just what I need; my shot groups have improved noticeably since installing it. The fact that it looks so elegant is the icing on the cake. |

Fit perfectly on my Mark IV 22/45 5.5” Steel Alloy Pistol |
9/27/2023 |
I was hesitant to purchase due to the other comments stating the grip did not fit, but I am glad that I did! It is Sept 2023 and the one I received this week fit perfectly. Maybe there was a bad batch made earlier :-\
Although you can pop the mag release with your left hand functionally without purchasing the extension……you will definitely need to purchase the mag release extension kit, which at this time is about $30 here on the site, in order to use your right thumb to press it quickly and properly. All I did was watch a YouTube video walking me through the installation and I did it simply in about 15 minutes.
That said, when you install the extension you WILL need to sand back the carved out groove on the grip about 1/16” in order for it to fit the button properly. I was able to do that with the Dremel #430 drum sander disc ($5)that I used in my drill. I didn’t even need to use a stain touch up. The grip is the same wood color throughout and it looks fantastic. |

Does not fit |
8/30/2023 |
The side with the mag release & safety lever does not fit! And it’s not even close. Like so many others stating the same, this thing looks great, but modifications are going to be necessary to get it to fit. I was so excited to get these installed, but ran into problems. Due to the thickness of the grips (and following recommendations), I installed an extended mag release button. The grip will have to be shaved, considerably, in order to clear the mag release. Looking at it, I’m not so sure that the grip will allow the safety lever to flip down fully either. That will also require shaving down. Hoping I can do this without ruining the grips! Planning to try matching the stain to touch up afterwards. They need to address this problem. |

Well crafted and better control |
4/6/2023 |
As a retired furniture designer I appreciate the fine craftsmanship in these "upgrade" grips. Well thought out and all controls are accessible and operate smoothly. I am adding the extended magazine release button just for added convenience. Well worth the added expense. I would definitely suggest these grips to a friend. |

Nice grips but fit issue |
1/5/2023 |
I purchased these oversized grips for my Mark iv 22 /45. I messaged Ruger to see which extended magazine release button is required. They replied telling me that I needed item # 18425. I ordered the extended button which I received and installed. The problem is the kit comes with 2 different type buttons but only the roun button will work with these grips. The thing is the grips which Ruger gets from Altamont have a notch cut out on the left to fit around the magazine release button but it is not deep enough to allow the installation of the left grip. It is necessary to sand / grind the notch approximately 1/8" deeper. I was able to do it with a Dremal tool. Be extremely careful not to gouge or scratch the grip when deepening the cut out. I wish they would let you upload pictures, but they don't. The grips look great after custom fitting the left side. |

Nice, but interferes with magazine release. |

Ordered the grips for my new 22/45.
They look quite nice but the mag release is recessed quite a bit from the grip surface and it is difficult to actuate. Returning. |

OK, I'm impressed |

I installed these on my Mk. IV 22/45 with a 5.5" bull barrel. The grips come with two steel pins to stabilize the front of the grips and four short screws (somewhat fiddly) to hold to the sides of the frame. The swap out took less than 10 minutes.
I do not have large hands but these grips assist my ability to "naturally" point this gun much better than the OEM grips and I can get on target much quicker. The finger grooves also help with controlling the weight of the bull barrel.
PRO: Fair prce, brain dead easy install, natural pointing enhancement.
CON: Yep, the mag release is hard to reach. I bought the extended mag release along with these grips to hopefully permanently solve this slight annoyance. I'll install the mag release later today and report back to see if this annoyance goes away. |

5 stars not enough. Just got these a week ago. They fit perfectly. Took them to the range, became my favorite set of grips immediately. |

very nice |

much better for larger hands than stock grips, altho the mag release is a bit harder to reach. I had to cut the plastic insert in the carrying case as its a good fit for the stock grips but a no-go for these oversize grips. |
