Ruger will not offer a resolution to this piece of junk! |
6/19/2024 |
I’m extremely disappointed in the way Ruger has handled this. They know that this magazine is junk and will not do anything to offer an option to fix this. I would be happy with a single shot sled, but once again it’s a dead end because the one shot sled doesn’t work with the .233 with the dash in the serial number. I’m feeling like Ruger doesn’t care about you if you own this rifle. Let the buyer beware!! I have multiple Ruger firearms and have always been more than satisfied with their customer service, until now. I don’t think I will be purchasing any more of their products |

Have gone through multiple. Either has issues loading or the tab on the mag breaks off. Please make a metal version so these junk mags stop breaking. |

Ruger American Ranch 5.56 |
2/14/2024 |
Love the rifle, deep doubts about the 5 round magazine. Several years ago I bought a Ruger Ranch Predator in 5.56. The Predator uses AR15 type magazines, I was never completely satisfied with the AR mags in that application but it did work. My Predator has a 22 inch barrel. I rejoiced when I found an older model Ranch version Ruger American with a 16 inch barrel in a pawn shop. The older model Ranch uses the 5 round polymer magazines which I thought I would like better. I went out to shoot the new/old Ranch this morning and the magazine retaining tab broke right off the magazine. I just got off the phone with Ruger and they are sending me a new 5 round magazine free of charge. I hope Ruger fixed the magazine problem. I hope this works out. I hope I will be happy in the end. We will see. Anyway I won't stop buying Ruger products. Nobody is perfect. |

5 shot magazine assembly |
1/14/2024 |
After reading some of the reviews. The feeling is mutual. While in the package I dropped the item. Opened the package and I now have 3 pieces. Looks like won’t be installing a magazine assembly. |

300 Blackout Feeding |
10/1/2023 |
Bought the rifle with a the rotary mag and worked fine for pig hunting but never fired more than two rounds a time. Tried the shoot a local club field match and none of the 3 mags I had would feed the 4th round. Swapped guns and finished the match with a CZ527 7.62x39 without an issue. The mag issue is a real show stopper for hunting. |

Poor quality magazine |
8/2/2023 |
Ruger’s 10/22 magazine is the standard of the industry, so why did they put this crappy mag on the Ranch Rifle? Had to send mine back for a replacement shortly after getting the rifle. |

Junk Mag |

The magazine “spring” fails to apply enough upward force to push the rounds into place. This results in the bolt failing to move the rounds into the action. Terrible magazine!!! |

Clip/magazine for 223 bolt action rifle |
3/16/2022 |
223 clip sucks Ruger apparently cannot call Compete in lower end rifle market. I would be embarrassed put my name on this rifle. Ruger should’ve made another clip/magazine that works properly in their 223 bolt action rifle. |

great shooting little rifle made useless by terrible mag |

My Ruger 556 ranch shoots very well, BUT, you can not use high BC bullets do to terrible magazine design! Further the mags break Very Easy! AND replacement mags are exorbitantly EXPENSIVE!
Buy a Savage, they function and shoot well even if not made like these!! |

Will not feed |

I have gone through four of these pieces of junk. They will not feed and will fail you at the wrong time. I would give 0 stars if that were an option. |

Magazine Totally Inadequate |
1/23/2018 |
I purchased the Ruger Ranch in .223 Remington. I love the rifle, detest the magazine. The barrel is a 1 in 8 twist, so perfect for the heavier bullets. The chamber is even throated to seat the heavy bullets perfectly in the cartridge. Well when seated properly, the OAL is too long for the cartridge to fit the magazine. In fact, to get a 75 grain Amax bullet seated rearward far enough for the OAL to fit in the magazine, the bullet drops into the cartridge case. Who is the moron engineer that designed a rifle to shoot bullets that wont fit into the magazine? I took the magazine apart and had the rear portioned milled out by CNC. The magazine should have been manufactured this way to begin with. Get with it Ruger. You ruined a perfect rifle for want of a workable magazine!! |

Bad Mag design |
1/19/2018 |
Difficult to load quickly, .300 Blackout cartridges want to slip past the follower in some weird way. Once loaded, half the time they feed straight into the breech face. Bad, bad design. cheap construction. Need to factory recall and refit with the new AR magazine system. |

the magazines for this rifle are a joke. and the price for replacements 40.00 plus shipping is an insult! they do not feed reliably at all. I would not consider taking this rifle out on an important hunt. my confidence in your products is severely shaken. you need to make this right with your customers!!! |
