Stiff springs |

| Ive owned a good many guns in my life, but Ive never seen a magazine as tough to load as this one. Its impossible to get the last round in. Then when you rack the slide, the spring puts so much pressure on the bullet being loaded that the next bullet down gets dragged right out of the magazine. Why are the 9mm mags so stiff, but the 45 mags are perfect? |

| I bought this 9 round Ruger mag for a custom 1911, not a Ruger pistol. It shot my factory and reloaded FMJ round nose ammo without any malfunction. I have always used a plastic loading tool for all of my 1911 9mm magazines so the strong spring is no problem. The very strong spring in the Ruger mag is a great asset because it will last longer than out of the box softer springs. The follower flows smoothly up and down demonstrating the good workmanship. the mag worked with a few hiccups with flat point and hollow point ammo. But with FMJ round nose it functions perfectly. I have switched to FMJ round nose ammo in all of my 1911 9mms for more guaranteed reliability. ...and very happy with both accuracy and reliability. |

Uplula helps |

| Using my uplula device these magazines were still somewhat hard to load but it was doable. Granted that my Wilson magazines were a bit easier, but the uplula loader certainly helped with both brands.
Bottom line is these magazines might be a chore to load with just your hands, but with a good speedloader, it is a lot easier. |

| The function is flawless; to load 9 rounds is almost impossible. I only load 7 given the extreme difficulty of rounds 8 and 9. The SR 1911 9 mm is a tremendous pistol, very disappointed with the Ruger magazines. |

| The magazine appears to be well made and reliable. Ive had no problems with it feeding rounds. Im probably going to give them away to whoever wants them. Loading it is a real pain... putting in the rounds start off as expected, but the last three rounds require superhuman strength. I end up only putting 7 rounds in it because its not worth the effort. I ended up buying some Wilson 10 round magazines and it works like a charm. I love Ruger, but this product is very disappointing. |

| This is without a doubt the best pistol in 9mm or 45 Ived ever owned, and I have both. Im a 1911 fan, but theses mags in 9mm are the hardest to load Ive ever owned. Looking for some Wilson Combat mags to replace. |

| Construction and fit are amazing. Took one star off just because these are the first magazines Ive owned that I truly want my speed loader for. 8, let alone the 9th requires more force than any other magazine Ive owned. But in the end, I like them and had no issues with feeding. But also own a competitors 9mm 1911 mags for use at the range that Ill be reloading several times in a day. |
