Great upgrade over stock front sight. 5/21/2019
Very well made and greatly improved visibility over the stock red ramp sight that comes with the Toklat version of the Super Red Hawk. Easy to switch the sight and very ruggedly built. I would highly recommend to all.

Correct Sight for the .44 Mag SRH with the 9.5 Barrel 9/19/2015
Acquired a new .44 Mag SRH with the 9.5 barrel earlier this year and wanted to change the front sight from the stock red ramp sight to a FO unit. On my three other pre-2013 SRHs and one GP100, changing the front sight is a simple matter of depressing the plunger in the front sight base and removing the sight; aftermarket FO front sights for these guns were plentiful from a variety of manufacturers. On the 2013 and later SRHs, the FO post and sight base are an integrated unit attached directly to the barrel with three screws. Its now no longer easy to swap sights on a current SRH and, as of this writing, the only FO front sight available for it is this one directly from Ruger. THe FO tube doesnt pick up as much light as similar sights from other manufacturers,

Better 3/17/2015
Not great, but it is better than red ramp site. Easy to swap out.

Not so Hi Viz 10/15/2014
I just bought this sight. Its about 2% better than the original. Why in heavens name Ruger has not made it as nice & easy to put fiber optics on this similar to the old models Ill never understand. It does not gather as much light or stay as bright as the fiber optic. I hope they get better in the future. Months ago when I called to ask about getting the old style sight, guy on the phone seemed like a college student with a telecommunications degree, not a knowledgeable gun person. Hope this doesnt become the trend with Ruger, I own 8 ruger products, rifle & handgun & at 44 years of age have been a shooter my whole life.
