Quality Leather put how Assembled Awkward |
1/8/2023 |
It's a good sling, good leather. Initially looked a bit narrow but works fine. Leather is shiny and stiff; needs conditioning and worked a bit to soften it. How it was assembled when it arrived was a bit awkward to figure out how the buckle or slide is used to adjust sling length; well, it at least it was for me. One end of the buckle (brass belt adjuster slide) was attached to one of the leather end- loops where the swivel it attached. This prevented the buckle from being used to adjust sling length, so I unscrewed the Chicago Screw Rivet and detached it from the leather loop end. That solved the problem. However, the sling needs a 1” (25.4 mm) belt loop on it, similar to what the Cobra and the 3-Point Military Sling have. |

Acceptable for the price |

I purchased based on the description to go with a couple older Marlin rifles I have, however the leather looks and feels cheap. It is smooth on both sides and not an “oiled” type leather sling like a typical military style sling. I will give it some time and see how it wears in and holds up. I seems like the quick adjustment feature will hold solid and not slip but time will tell. |

We really should tell them…. |

Quality leather & craftsmanship. Amazing attention to detail. Professionally packed and shipped for an incredibly fair price. I’ve now bought 4 various makes & models. Each is superb. You know, we should tell those boys on EBay paying a fortune for 50 year old slings….maybe I will after I purchase 1 or 2 more. |

It's Back! |

These are modeled after the classic Marlin slings of years ago...they got rare and to expensive to buy. I am very pleased they are being re-introduced for a reasonable price! Sturdy, adjustable "old time" Horse & Rider sling! It's Great! |
