10 Round magazine doesn’t feed after a couple of shots. 5 Round magazine feeds perfectly. 20 Round magazine feeds perfectly. Ripoff

10 round total failure 7/19/2023
I have six of the 10rd 7.62x39 magazines and none of them are useable. Everyone fits very tight in both my Mini-Thirty and American Ranch Rifle. That alone is a deal breaker. Then, I can not cycle more than two or three cartridges before the leading edge of the follower angles downward causing rounds to point at an upward angle jamming the action. It would behoove RUGER to develope a Gen2 version of this magazine; then offer a one-for-one trade for customers possessing these shoddy magazines. On a positive note, all my 5-round and 20- round magazines have always performed flawlessly. I was confidently expecting the same from the 10-round magazines. Not so, left holding more tha $250 worth of disappointment. I am hoping that RUGER will treat their loyal customers right.

Six magazines - ALL BAD! 7/5/2023
All six magazines were a very tight fit in both my Mini-Thirty and American Ranch rifle. One magazine would not accept more than five rounds after three attempts. The other five would hold ten rounds but had multiple feeding issues; usually within the first five rounds. I suspect the noticeably shorter feed lips are part of the problem. Six out of six magazines - all bad! RUGER needs to develope a GEN ll version of this ten-round magazine and then offer a one-for-one trade with customers holding defective magazines.

Works but... 6/2/2022
Purchased to have and extra magazine for my Ranch rifle. Found that 5 rounds would cycle fine but 6 rounds would bind the follower and rounds would not cycle. Removed the base plate, spring and follower for inspection. Found a burr from one of the spot welds causing the issue. Removed the burr from the magazine and rounded the rear of the follower slightly with emery cloth. Works perfectly now but needed some work to get it right,

7.62x39 Magazine Issue 4/20/2022
For the life of me can’t figure out why all the bumps and protrusions on the follower. Can't close the bolt on an empty mag with our removing the mag. WHY ??? Very poor design. Need a mag just for the American rifle!!!!!

Ruger 10-Round Magazine Fail 4/17/2022
Like others have noted, the 10-round magazines I ordered to use in my Ruger American Ranch Rifle do not cycle properly. They often double feed, creating a jam in the breech. Usually, the last round ends up lodged vertically, bullet end down, in the magazine. Plus, the 10-round magazine does not seat as securely as the 5- and 20-round magazines do. I'm not sure why the 10-round magazines do not perform as they should nor as well as the 5- and 20-round magazines do. In a side-by-side visual comparison, I noticed that the feed lips on my 10-round magazines are considerably shorter than on my 5- and 20-round magazines, which are half-again as long as the 10-round feed lips. It seems there are enough negative reviews about this product that Ruger should take notice and re-engineer the 10-round magazines. Of course, the operative term here is "should." I guess we'll see if Ruger actually cares enough to fix this problem. I'm a big fan of Ruger products, just not this magazine. In my experience, it's a complete fail.

CRAP 1/31/2022
This 10 round mag is junk. As others have said, it seats more difficult than the other Ruger mags and the floor plate is made like garbage. Shame on you Ruger.

Won’t feed after 3-4 rounds 12/9/2021
Very disappointed this mag won’t feed correctly. During first use and after a few rounds were shot, the remaining rounds misfed. Repeatedly. The feed plate collapses forward so the rounds want to feed vertically. How did this get passed quality control? Send me a good one, Ruger!

3 10-round magazines all with the same issue!!! 4/23/2020
After cycling 300-500 rounds through each magazine, the base plate came loose on each of the 3 magazines. At separate times, the base would pop off after discharging the rifle allowing the remaining rounds to drop out of the magazine. It appears that the bases is not reinforced enough to withstand the recoil of the spring inside the magazine when a round is fired. This is quite disappointing and embarrassing when at the range and the rifle appears to fall a part in your hands. The mini thirty is a great rifle but is pointless if you can’t trust the magazines!

Ruger did me a favor 6/8/2017
So Ruger wont ship mags to Connecticut, to funny, so i saved $10 and got this 10 round Mini 30 mag shipped from Brownells to Connecticut. Yes, i have all the permits needed, many websites just ask for a photo copy of them. Why cant Ruger.com do the same? Its called customer service. On the bright side y;all finally made a 10 round factory mag for the mini 30, Bill Ruger would be so proud, as no honest man needs more then 10 rounds pffft. I only gave this product 3 stars because its harder to seat in the Mini then my other Ruger mags, and the base plate is a cheaper design then the others also.
