Bad design 2/5/2023
I've owned 4 ruger Americans and 2 of the 4 had junk magazines. The problem was the feed ramp every time. Had to purchase a replacement because I modified the original to make it work and ruger wouldn't replace it because i tampered with it , which was a good thing because if i had sent it back i would have gave up one i made to workfor a new pos that didn't. When I received the replacement it wouldn't work either. When the cartridge was pushed forward the bullet would climb the feed ramp at such an angle that the bullet would slam into the back of the chamber no matter how fast or slow you worked the bolt.

Known magazine problems 12/9/2021
The magazine that came with my 22-250 feed ok at first but wasn’t consistent, it would jam. So I bought the replacement and it was also junk from the start. They need metal magazines. If this is their way of getting extra sales it’s time to switch brands. You shouldn’t have to keep buying magazines.

The previous review was so spot on 5/16/2019
Our 22-250 rifle has never fed rounds properly and finally wouldnt feed rounds at all. We love the rifle, but were tired of the inconvenience of the poor magazine design. I finally decided to buy a new one when I saw the review to buy the .308 caliber magazine instead of the original model. So I did, and the rifle feeds properly every single time now. Thank you so much for the advice previous reviewer

22-250 mag 12/15/2018
very poor quality mag selling rifle have to rethink at this point about buying another ruger very unhappy with quality

poor quality 2/10/2018
this magazine is very poor quality, it jams the rounds straight into the face of the 22-250 chamber. a guy told me to try the straight stack 450 Bushmaster, it is superb, No jamming at all and a very high quality product, why they dont come as a standard mag, Ive no idea..

poor quality 1/22/2018
Ruger has always had the best rotary magazines made, not this time poor quality magazine is the down fall of the Ruge American rifle.

The spring hinge construction is faulty for a 22-250 round 9/8/2016
This particular mag is sold with the Ruger American 22-250, but in fact the mag for the .308 Win etc works with this rifle part #90436. If you look closely inside the mag, the spring construction is quite different, too strong of a spring in the one sold with the 22-250 part #90573. The spring pushes up the round prematurely, jamming it and not allowing it to feed properly. The mag sold for the .243 Win., .308 Win., 7mm-08 Rem., and 6.5 Creedmoor, the hinge sits more in the middle of the case and is the proper strength. All the 22-250 rounds I put through the #90436 mag fed just as cleanly as could be. Love the rifle, just use the 90436 mag instead of the 90573.
